The
100 km. long coastline of Goa is endowed with some of the loveliest beaches
in the world. Tucked between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea. Goa
blends scenic beauty with a Latin heritage and a leisurely way of life. For
the beach enthusiast, Goa is a veritable paradise that helps you discover an
exciting new beach every day. And there is a wide variety of them - Colva,
Betul, Dona Paula, Calangute, Gasper Dias, Baga, Anjuna, Bogmalo and Vagotor
fringed with palms stretching out in the horizon, while the sun beams to the
merry dances of waves. There are several beach resorts in South, North Goa
catering to the needs of all levels and to suit all pockets.
Covelong is a nice beach between Madras(Chennai) and Mahabalipuram and a
small charming fishing settlement. It was originally a port built by Saadat
Ali, Nawab of Carnatic and it was here that the French General Laboudonnais
landed his troops in 1746. Later taken by Clive in 1752 and destroyed. The
Beach is separated from the mainland by the canal running from
Madras(Chennai) to Mahabalipuram. The Fisherman's Cove Resort with rooms in
the main buildings and cottages and the sandy beach here is run by Taj Group
of Hotels. An hours drive from Madras city or from the airport.
A
sheltered bay, Kovalam beach is just 16 kms. away from Trivandrum. A sheet
of silvery and sand curves into an arc, that is bordered on one side and
azure blue waters and on the other side, by a sumptuous spread of green palm
groves. Kovalam Ashok Beach Resort is a unique concept in resort hotels and
provides a complete holiday to the tourist. The Resort is cut into the
hillside and spread out like a small village complete with facilities for
water sports, yoga, traditional oil massage and special arrangements for
Kathakali dances and other local entertainment. The 40 cottages have private
sun-decks that open out to the beach and that open out to the beach and the
sea.
Fringed
by a continuous silvery beach, the Bangaram Island Resort, 128 acres of
tropical paradise is encircled by a lagoon 10 kms. long and 6 kms. wide
consisting an area of approximate 40 sq. kms. With the exception of the
Resort, Bangaram is totally uninhabited. The lagoons around the islands are
beautiful and clear, offering excellent opportunities for swimming,
snorkeling and sun bathing. The Island of Bangaram is the only resort
developed for stay and water sports and it is possible to cruise around the
islands. For dedicated anglers, tuna fishing and deep see fishing and for
marine life lovers there are glassbottom boats available The waters are
crystal clear and immensely rich in a variety of sea life including corals.
The Resort consists of thirty huts with walls of bamboo and thatched with
palm fronds. It has a restaurant, a bar and a lounge.| India Tour Operators | Tour Operator in India | Travel Packages in India |
